A pointer is going to behave differently from a retriever hunting birds. Different dogs are used for different game and as you would expect behave differently. My concern for this game is that the dog mechanic is not going to be as nuanced as what I described above. It's then up to the hunter to be able to call the turkeys back in. After the dog scatters the flock? It (being properly trained) crawls into a burlap sack and lays in the hunters lap sometimes for hours. The dog's role is to scatter the turkeys after which the dog's job is done. For a long time Pennsylvania prohibited the use of dogs to hunt turkeys due to a statue that classified them as Big game. For example Pennsylvania just legalized the use of leashed tracking dogs to recover wounded deer.Īnother example is using dogs to hunt Wild Turkey. Some even use dogs to hunt Coyotes though again the law varies from state to state.Īnother use of dogs is in the retrieval of wounded game. In southern states? They use dogs to hunt wild boar. You can also hunt Cottontail Rabbits with Beagles like myself (currently trying to start another rabbit hound). You can hunt upland game like Ringneck Pheasant with Bird dogs like Brittany's, Labrador Retrievers, Springer Spaniels, German Shorthair pointers, etc. Hunting small game with dogs is 100% legal in my state of Pennsylvania. This game is apparently set in Texas and Colorado, etc. Every state has it's own laws and regulations. Hunting deer with dogs is illegal in most states (it sure is in PA). ill play hunter call of the wild Shows how much or rather how little you know about hunting tbh. Originally posted by Kuro Neko:Trash, also hunting with dogs is illegal so ♥♥♥♥ them Beagles for Cottontail rabbits that actually circle the rabbit. I do like the addition of being able to hunt with dogs but I hope they nail it and that different dogs behave differently for different game. It makes trophies feel unique.Īnd the animal AI was generally not good in Hunting simulator 1. For example in The Hunter: Call of the Wild? They have the Tru Racs system which gives greater variance to animals with horns/antlers. This was compounded by the fact the gameplay could become repetitive. ![]() But it quickly leads to animals feeling virtually identical. This might be ok for game that doesn't have antlers, etc. The other oddity was that the only variance was the weight of the animal. They have licenses to actual firearms in Hunting Simulator 2 so I hope that extends to the sound from the guns. One of the things I found odd in Hunting Sim 1 was how all the firearms essentially sounded the same. I like hunting games as there really aren't that many good ones on the market these days. Hopefully these issues from the first game are addressed in HS2, otherwise it’s not going to do well. Other hunting games offered a better experience for a lower price. The price was ridiculous in the first game. Multiplayer maps were smaller the single player maps, go figure. The game advertised so many regions in the first game but failed to state that a handful of those regions were duck hunting maps, and they only allowed the player to take a few steps in any direction. Many players never experienced what this game had to offer due to regions being locked behind progression. Regions were LOCKED behind mission progression which is not cool. They posed zero threat and players could walk right up to them without taking any damage. Grizzly bears, cougars, and wolves for example were as harmless as the in-game bunny rabbits. Flowers, bushes, and vegetation would pop-in constantly right in front of the player.Īnimal AI was almost non existent. Pop-ins were constant, and I’m talking single player. If I was playing with a friend, and we were on separate ends on the multiplayer map, and my friend fired a round, I would hear the gunshot loud and clear as though the shot was fired from my gun. Watch towers typically offer excellent sight lines across the map, but consequently are visible from large areas as well. The audio was broken in the first game’s multiplayer. Typically several items will spawn within the tower, items like: medkits, ammunition, Weapons, Cash Registers or Lootable Items. Watchtowers are larger towers than the hunting towers. In the tower itself there can also spawn a Medkit, Ammo Box, Special Ammo Box or a Weapon, normally a rifle. ![]() There may be a box under each tower, on top of which Medkits, Ammunition, Axe, Hammer, Bear traps and Lanterns can spawn. The top floor normally has 2 small widows on the side with shutters, allowing hunter to break the line of sight, and also big window in the front. Bottom of the towers are protected from most directions and contain ladder leading upstairs. Towers are shooting pulpits and scout towers located on both maps. Map objects are entities in the world that can be interacted with: doors, lamps, ammunition boxes, explosive barrels etc.
